With the greatest of ease...

I often hear people talk about raccoons, how they look awkward and uncoordinated—even that they’re a little spooked when they stumble upon them in the dark, bumbling along in the shadows. Well, these people have obviously never seen a raccoon on a trapeze. It’s poetry in motion.

HAPPY NEW YEAR BY NEROSUNERO

Happy new year to SFG by Mario Sughi at nerosunero

Dudley, Malcolm and Wayne

The weekends are made for doodling. Now that the holidays are winding down I'm going to try to post new stuff a little more consistently. I am excited for 2008.

Touch

First attempt here at scanning some inked work and coloring it in PS. I am out of my comfort zone on this one and not sure what to think.lol. But I am going to keep trying my hand at this style. I love vector, but need to challenge myself more. Trying to get out of a slump.
Happy New Year!

Network World Illos

These were for a year end issue of network world. I had to illustrate one of the smartest and one of the dumbest Technology moves made this year. They gave me a list of choices. The smartest is about google's "G Phone" development. They are making the phone open source and working with a many different developers unlike apple's IPHone. The dumbest is about ghost bloggers. CEO's and executives that have fake blogs made for them that they don't write themselves.

Happy Holidays!

One of my favorite things this year was to work on the development of these two lovable characters... Mountain and Jingles. You can imagine that it makes for a fun client as well...lots of freedom and lots of creativity. This is their Christmas Card and focus on the simple things in life, like being with the ones you love...appreciating every minute. And they just want peace for this crazy world of ours. To a happy, healthy and creative 2008!

Loyal Order of Thug Bunny

'Thug Bunny - Click to see larger version of art.'

A few years back me and another designer almost started a new design firm together. One of the names we had kicked around at that time was "Thug Bunny." I liked the name so much I secured the domain and lately I've been thinking about that name and decided I needed to illustrate it.

The above art is the result of this recent inspiration.

Daily drawing: 1920's Paris

I have been doing this daily drawing thing for awhile now, in fact today was day 73. One of the best developments has been the wide range of styles I feel like I actually have time to try—switching things up certainly keeps it interesting...

All the daily drawings (and the stories that go with them) can be viewed at my blog, le pen quotidien.

children's story

Don't forget to kill Philip!
This is "Zombie Jack and Jill", a story I may write in the future (but unlikely that I will). I just thought the concept was funny.

Zombie Jack and Zombie Jill
Went up a hill
And came down with a bucket of blood.
They hungered for brains
And other remains
As they dragged themselves through the mud.

Merry Xmas And Happy New Year!

I had this image in my head for some time... A Santa Claus that looks like a ball, walking on the roof. Finaly I had the chance to put it on paper (or screen, if you prefer...).

And to my surprise, for the first time I have something to show for the SFG Challenge! I didn't know that the theme was Santa until I came to post this...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for everyone!

Happy Holidays! - Merry Christmas!

During this festive season, i would like to wish you and your loved ones a Happy Holidays! Please enjoy your time with family and friends.

ALTAMORE UNABASHED

this is a doodle that i've made at work in the sheet that i use under the mouse. the wacom part was made at home... but the doodle was based on the people that i work with, sometimes they seems to have such an enormous joy and happiness that becomes contagious (sarcasm???)... and i become infected... sigh

Cheap Wine

I'm not big on watching the Grammys but I may watch this year to see if Amy Winehouse is loaded out of her mind. That would be cool.

SFG: santa

The challenge word on sugarfrostedgoodness.com is "santa", of course.
jump into bed and cover your head
First of all, as you may have figured by now, I do not celebrate Christmas. When I was a kid, we didn't decorate for Christmas either. No lights. No tree. We weren't Christian. And we didn't feel bad or slighted in the least. We happily dragged out our plastic, electric menorah and twisted a new orange bulb into each socket with each new night of Chanukah. My mom would give my brother and me a token Chaunkah gift, usually chocolate coins and underwear or a pair of socks. My parents were both in the retail business and Christmas was a convenient day-off for holiday gift-giving. And considering the haphazard arrival of Chanukah, we could always count on December 25 coming the same time every year. But, I knew that there was no Santa. My mom would take me with her when she shopped for gifts for my brother and me. She always used the same "present hiding place" every year, the back of her closet. And I looked there every year. One year, I even caught my mom and dad assembling some toys for my brother and me. Plus, we didn't have a fireplace. Our chimney lead to a closet in the den that housed our furnace. But, I also knew it wasn't Christmas and I knew weren't celebrating Christmas.
hours before the winter sun's ignited
When I was an kid, I sat on Santa's lap and had my picture taken. Sure, I watched "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and "Year Without a Santa Claus" and "A Charlie Brown Christmas" every year. All of my non-Christian friends watched these shows, too. And we enjoyed them. I always thought Winter Warlock was cool.
And, although I am not a fan of holidays, I have never been offended when someone wished me "Merry Christmas".

Holiday Cheers!

Happy Holidays to All!

The twelve days

Where to begin? I realize that the twelve days of Christmas actually start on Christmas day and extend into January, but that simply does not seem right, so I’m taking a stand and doing the countdown in reverse. It doesn’t make sense to still be drawing Christmas-related subjects into a new year, in fact it’s downright criminal (like the stores that put out Christmas items before Halloween—a guarantee of a one-way ticket straight to the hot place, if you ask me).

But the countdown beginning so late is nothing, compared to the other obvious questions. First, why is a seed-eating ground bird in a fruit tree? And moreover, how does one “give” a partridge in a pear tree to someone? Unless they actually buy the land surrounding the tree—which is highly unlikely, since that would be the most valuable element of the first day’s package and would thus be mentioned in the song—I expect a cage must be involved, or some sort of chain or rope, which doesn’t seem very Christmas-y. My true love wouldn’t remain my true love long if he were to chain a bird that likely has an issue with heights to a tree that has been uprooted, never mind that it is incredibly presumptuous to give someone a large orchard tree without first ensuring that they have a) enough space and b) a second tree of the same species for cross-pollination purposes. All in all, this is a poor gift. No way to start the twelve days.

See the entire series...

Hello all—my name is Bambi Edlund, I am new to SFG, and looking forward to taking part. I am an illustrator from Vancouver, B.C., working on a daily drawing project—so far it's two months and counting, my goal is a year without a miss. Yikes. For the past week I have been doing a countdown of the twelve days of Christmas, this is the first installation—please visit my blog www.lepenquotidien.com for the entire series (we're up to day nine).

Hi, SFG!

My name is Oriol Rello. I'm an illustrator and animator from La Floresta (Barcelona) and is an honor for me to show my work in SFG! I will be waiting for your comments. No mercy with me!

You can check all my stuff in The Cricket Cave. Thanks for your time!
